Yes, as long as the space is ventilated. The Mattte formula excludes oil categories known to carry higher toxicity risk for cats (tea tree, peppermint, wintergreen, pine, concentrated citrus, ylang-ylang), and fragrances listing linalool were screened out at selection. Volcanic-stone diffusion is passive: no ultrasonic misting and no heat, so there are no fine droplets for a cat to inhale or lick off its fur. Use it in a well-ventilated room and let your cat leave freely.

The same room is fine; that is exactly what it was designed for. Keep it at least 1 metre from the box itself, on a stable surface where your cat won’t knock it over.

When the scent fades (usually every 1–2 weeks), add a few drops from the sealed bottle to the stone. Replace the bottle once the 10 ml is used up; in a 15–25 m² room, one bottle lasts about six months.

Technically yes, but we don’t recommend it. The Mattte formula is tuned for pet safety, IFRA standards and the slow release of the volcanic stone together. Off-the-shelf oils may contain ingredients we deliberately exclude, or evaporate too fast.

Just buy a 10 ml bottle of the other scent; the stone and cup stay. Let the stone air out in a ventilated spot for 1–2 days first so the two scents don’t mix.

The ceramic base is weighted and stable. The oil stays in its sealed bottle, so if the cup tips, at most a little absorbed oil seeps from the stone. Wipe the surface and your pet’s paws with water; the alcohol-free formula leaves no mark on most surfaces.

No. It is finished with food-grade natural wood oil, with no synthetic lacquer or solvents. Wipe with a dry cloth and avoid soaking.

It works best in rooms up to about 25 m². For large open-plan spaces, one unit at each of two diagonal corners works better than one in the centre.
